Cape Buccaneers Rugby Club

The 40th Anniversary dinner was held on Friday 24th November 2006 at Kelvin Grove, Newlands, Cape Town.

What a memorable evening. A spectacular turnout of over 200 people with many having flown in specially from all over the world.

The evening started with speeches by firstly Dave Gregory who did a fantastic job in co ordinating the event, then John Hulse followed by our president Roger Young. The guest speaker was Robyn Jackman ex England cricketer and Western Province coach who regaled us with amusing stories of his playing days !

Dancing for those with there wives /girlfriends/mistresses was to the sounds of the live band Alphaset.

It was great to see the Hamiltons Rugby Club President, Mike Reynolds as well as the Chairman, Dave Kagan who were representing Hamiltons. We thank them for their support .

Many of those who travelled from afar have combined the event with a holiday and have already been at the club most nights since the dinner.

Phil Esply is around for 3 weeks, travelling up to Etosha Pan for a couple of weeks then back to Cape Town. Good to meet up with Tony Mannion again. hes also around for a while.
