Richard Allen - Wing. One game for the Buccs. Scored 1 try then pulled a hamstring and retired !

John "Animal" Ashfield - Prop, hooker & flank. Fast, aggresive good ball handler. A marvelous competitor ! Now living in the UK.

Andy Brown - Prop, hooker. Aggressive committed club man. Ex Captain and excellent administrator.

Neil Butcher - Prop. Ex captain. Possesed a battering ram style. Good player.

Terry Byrne - Flyhalf. Absolute dynamite speed off the mark. Sidestep, kicks off either foot. When he joined he was asked if he was any good...'the best" was his reply !

Graham Clark - Flank, Lock - "Jaggy Bonnet" talent only came to fruition when Canada called !

Greg Clark - Flank , Lock. Genuine grafter. superbly fit. Played 197 games for Buccs and scored only 1 try ! Ex captain. Still living in Cape Town.

Brian Cochrane - Flyhalf. Kicked Hammies 3c to victory in 1975. A genuine bird watcher/

Jeff Davis - Number 8.- The try poacher. Classic Welsh eighthman.Now cycles for Sybrand park.

Errol Day & Ron de la Porte - Second row. Twin sisters. Played in the very early teams when very old !

George Dore - Wing. Cliftons mole...Joined the Buccs when he saw we were winners ! Still living in Cape Town.

Owie Ellis - Prop. - Strongest man to play for Buccs. Used Grolly Green as a punch bag every Saturday night. Now a Canadian millionaire.

Geoff "Bread of " Evans - Centre. Classical Barry John style. Judo expert. (Ask Albert)

Roy Faulkner- Scrumhalf. Very sound, loyal scrumhalf, a stalwart. Very quick recovery rate after being scragged by eight opposition forwards.

Ian Forbes - Second Row. Strong , rugged mobile forward. Ex Plank editor. Largely responsible for The Firemans Arms profits in the late sixties !

Brian Foster - Centre. The Silver ghost. Coined the immortal words " Just follow my arse" Often slummed for Hammies 1st XV.

Geoff "Our Kid" Foster - Wing or Corner Flag. Slow, bad hands, thin as a rake. More meat on a butchers pencil. Now in St Helens.

Ray Gamble - Prop - Strong and good number 2 lineout jumper. Cut above the average Mick you meet down the pub.

Len Garde - Second Row. Played for the Hammies 3c side. Local South African trying to get on in the world. Rumoured to be still playing because of tours to the Far East. Still in same house in Green Point.

Solly Gaywood - Centre. Re treaded scrumhalf. A poacher who scored many good tries.

Tony Gilks - Prop and Flank. Magnificient captain and leader. Strong men cried when he left for Australia.

Stuart "Grolly" Green - Fullback, flank. Versatile player. Bit of a jetsetter. Drank too much.Now living in California.

Paul Griffin - Prop. Scruffy bugger. Superhuman strength in the rucks. Renowned for white dinner jacket.

Peter Hart- Prop. scrums or bars. The bionic barrel. The official balladeer of the Buccs. Led hymn singing after matches.

Albert Guy Bunting Hawksworth - Flank,scrumhalf. The pocket battleship, a ferocious competitor. Now living in the UK.

Harold Holmes - Hooker. 6'4". Mainly remembered for his golfing prowess and designing the Buccs badge.

John Hulse - Hooker and Flank. Tireless player and quick striker(legs or arms). Runs marathons.Still living in Cape Town.

Alan Jameson - Centre. Unsuccesful coup leader in the late sixties. Big strong heavy tackler.

Trevor Kerr - Prop. The Buccs Dougald McDonald. Really wanted to be a back.

Chris King - Flank. The cold eyed killer. He coined the phrase "you never hear the boot that kills you"

Peter Lloyd - Second Row. Real lazy sod until someone spoke to his wife on the touchline.

Peter Mann - Prop. Only prop that was faster than his wings.

John McGettigan - Number 8. Real trier and powerful runner. Buccs Hagar.

Mitch Miche - Hooker. Gareth Edwards lookalike. Very fit and fast striker.

Ian Milne- Second Row. Honest grafter. Carried ageing locks for a couple of seasons.Now living in Scotland.

Ian Morris - Second Row. Young strong and fit. A regular for a couple of seasons.

Billy O' Reagan - Lomgest servivg reserve. Most notable for breaking water main outside Mount Nelson Hotel.

Dennis O' Reagan - Supporter. Australian drunk !

Phil Parry - Flank 8th Man. Fast , clever player. Weakness for redheads (terminal).

Brian Perry - Centre. Powerful tackler, clever player.

Malcolm Prosser - Flyhalf. Well deserved presidentship, brilliant pivot and goalkicker. Used to use his boxing talents on Malta Park pilferers.Sadly passed away January 2003.

Dick Quayle - Fullback,centre. Dashing handsome player whose speed and talent often cut the line, long blond hair streaming in the wind. Still livin gin Cape Town.

Graham Rycroft - Flank, 8th man. Often played for the Buccs but could not fit the game in between rounds at Milnerton and Mowbray.

Dave Starkey - Wing. Wild man! Had nose bitten at Kelvin. Good violinist.

Roger Starkey - Fullback. Ex- england schoolboy. Brilliant player. Talented musician, won Battle of the Bands.

Martin Sutcliffe - Prop. Strong efficient player with a comfortable arse. Married his sister.

Ron Taylor- Wing. Master plumber. Greatest feat was aerial irrigation of Malta Park.

Nicky Tandy - Flank, centre. Had two runs with the Buccs. Pinched Pross's boots- claimed humanitarian action.

Mike Thomas - Tight forward. Good grafter. Now drinks for Natal.

David Walters - Wing. Public schoolboy. Fast powerful well endowed. Played for Hammies 1st XV once.

John Webb- Wing. Always had the classy birds. Rumoured to be a male model.

Colin Wills- Scrumhalf. Played for Leigh and Sydnet St george. Great believer in tackling low.

John Worsfold- Prop. Ex captain. Played Hammies 3rd team.
